Here is a photo of one of the first sets of canes that I made from the DVD: (click on photo to enlarge).

Here is a pendant "to be" and a pair of earrings "to be" that I made from that cane:

Then I made a set of the canes using green. I really liked one comment that Judy made in the DVD - that she was not sharing color recipes because she wants to encourage people to use the colors that they love. Well, that was all I needed - first I used my beloved pink. Do you know that I kind of try to keep it from people that pink is my favorite color?? I do! So many people say to me, "I don't do pink" that sometimes I think I shouldn't tell. But now - I'm telling. I LOVE pink! It's a wonderful color.
I don't exactly love this shade of green that I used in the next set of canes, however, I think the contrasting colors just made the look of these canes pop beautifully. I hope you think so, too!

Well that's my blog for now... I am off to make more great looking canes, and lots of pendants and earrings, too. My most gracious thanks to Judy Belcher for sharing, and for a DVD most professionally done!

wow Jacks. those are all awesome canes!! I like the pink one too :D
ReplyDeleteOoooooo I'm a likin' the green. Good lookin stuff.
ReplyDeleteKathi, you could have knocked me over with a feather when you said you like the pink! Hee hee - I thought you didn't like pink. But I must have been mistaken. Thanks for the comment.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pete! Fun canes, that's all I want to do all day long now.
I'm a fan of the first 2 green ones! Maybe you can start a "jodie box" for some snippets?
ReplyDeleteEvery single one is just gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous... but the pink one is my favorite too. Such a soft pretty pink. Elvis would love it. Glad to have you blogging again!! BJ
ReplyDeleteI love that DVD! And I love the 3rd green cane - looks like people spreading their arms to catch all the fun stuff the Universe sends them. (It's late...)
ReplyDeleteMelissa
you've got it, Jodie!
ReplyDeleteThanks, BJ - it was actually your comments that made me get back to it.
Melissa - I can see the same vision! Of course, it's late here, too! LOL.
Very cool canes! I love those colors. I usually don't do pink, but sometimes when I'm making something for someone else, I get a really nice shade that I like.
ReplyDeleteHooray, you are posting, again and I told you yesterday, I love, absolutely love those canes. I think I'll have to get my JB video back out and watch it again. The idea of a portable DVD player is also a fantastic one, then I could have it right at my clay desk. Thanks for the idea. I had a great time at the Claypen Chat yesterday, too, thanks. Smiles
ReplyDeleteThank you, Janie. Sue, yes, the DVD player is something I've wanted for quite a while, and it is really great having it right there and not having to go back & forth to the living room. It was fun having you at the Claypen chat yesterday, so glad you were able to make it.
ReplyDeleteI like your pink one too, Jackie. Good for you on studying Judy's dvd and really getting the nuts and bolts of her cane down. You've really encouraged me, because I have Sarah Shriver's cane video and I really should get in there and practice with it. Great job, Jackie!!
