Sterling & Jasper

I'm ready to start blogging about my adventures with polymer clay and jewelry, and life in general. I recently created a necklace that I love - it's made with Sugalite Jasper and Sterling Silver, and I think it turned out great. It does have one flaw, unfortunately, but it's an easy fix and I'll be doing that tomorrow. The silver wire that I used to make an interesting connection with just isn't working as well as I'd like, so I'm going to put the sterling silver textured jump rings there instead. Too bad, really, because I liked the "artsy" look they added. But they can't stay if they will be a bother to the wearer.

I really love this necklace! I hope you do, too. It will be one of the featured items on my Spotlight on Designer at the Soft Flex beading wire website in November. I also shared it at the Claypen chat a couple of weeks ago.

  2. The necklace is beautiful Jackie. I like the wire connection too. are you sure you have to change it? What's the problem, does it snag?

And I like your blog... I'm having a good time with mine and I bet you will too. BJ

  8. Thank you so much, everyone! I appreciate your kind comments - you all give me new life to keep going.

BJ - The silver wire on that necklace doesn't snag, but it causes the necklace from lying exacly flat. Operator error, I'm sure! The rings will solve the problem, though.

Thanks again! I am thinking about what's next - I've been busy lately so I have some choices. Jackie

  9. Jackie, what a wonderful start to your new blog! That necklace is just a dream, and I love the enlargement feature, so one can see all the gorgeous veinings and colored layers in it, plus your silver work is exquisite! All your work is top-notch, and this is no exception. Congratulations on taking the plunge! We'll be looking for more pics and news updates from you. Big Hugs, Athena Marmalade
