Many of you may know that my child-bearing days are well over. So why do I have a 7-month old baby girl in my care this week? Ah, the miracle of grandchildren. We (husband and I) are having so much fun with this little baby, she's so cute and so busy, crawling all around the place and talking to us in big paragraphs that we don't understand a word of! After the first day, when she was a little worried about what happened to her old life (poor thing), she is now acclimated to us and just beams with happy smiles every time we look at her or talk to her. Of course - MY old life has taken a drastic change, too! Diapers and feedings are the new norm for me.
Since I finished some new kaleidoscope canes the day before Lucie arrived, I thought I should share them with you now. These are my "Magenta" and "Easter Sunset" series of canes. I won't be making any new ones for a while, since after this week with Lucie, her 3-year old brother Max will be here for a week. Crazy! But fun.

Have fun Grammie. lol These canes are lovely. Really liking the last one.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was just trying to get over to your blog to check it out - I see that you have some fun new posts! Soon... when baby is crawling around and not sitting on my lap as I (try) to type.
ReplyDeleteJackie those are gorgeous !!!!! Good job... and yes Miracle babies require a lot of hugs and kisses, blowing on the bellies, letting them jump like little kangaroo's, and on and on.
ReplyDeleteJackie, Just Lovely! I especially am drawn to the first one, which I think is pretty and delicate and feminine and have (in my mind) dubbed it "Lucie's Cane".....in honour of your miracle baby. Hope you are having a blast..but that that baby also SLEEPS.
ReplyDeleteThank you Donna & Anita. You've got it on the kangaroo imitation, Donna, I'll probably have bruises on my legs soon. "jumpy, jumpy, jumpy", we say, and she goes for it!
ReplyDeleteShe's a pretty good sleeper, Anita - 2 naps a day and sleeps all night. I just put her down and might sneak into my Claypen for a bit.
You don't have Lucie making canes yet? She might have your talent.
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie that sounds great to be able to have the grandies all to yourself for awhile. Wonderful little things but great too that you can hand them back to keep on caning.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful canes, wish I knew how you did it.
Mine are so bland , but Ill keep on going and watching you and just maybe Ill arrive where you are one day.

Have fun with the babysitting! Beautiful canes, once again! I sure have enjoyed seeing all these great creations!
ReplyDeleteJackie, I'm taking care of the boys (ages 9 & 6) for 6 days later this month...thank heavens for school.
ReplyDeleteLove the pastel cane. I am so ready for a summer color scheme.
Beautiful Canes! I'm always fascinated by kaleidoscopes, even though I'm a caner it's one thing I haven't attempted in the seven years since I took a class. My favorite is the last one, I love strong colors.
ReplyDeletelove them!!!
